Beware of this shop!! Last week I went in to have the rear breaks checked. The mechanic or owner told me they could fix it or change the breaks. They said it was repaired and they charged me $250. I drove it for a few days after and I heard the noise, the one that made me suspect the breaks in the first place, again and it had gotten worse. I returned to them and he kept telling me that he was too busy to check. I trusted him again, and I asked him to verify an oil leak and to change the front break pads too. It turned out that while changing the front pads, a Mechanic broke the bolt and they charged me an additional $75 to repair it. He then told me he cleaned things and tightened the oil cap and that everything was well. They billed me an additional $438 but charged me $453, including an additional fee that they didn't bother to mention. Very professional and friendly staff, providing great service in a timely manner for a reasonable price. This place is huge on preventative maintenance to avoid high cost repairs, a policy I greatly appreciate. That being said, the owner and staff are straightforward and honest, recommending what is necessary and making clear what takes priority and why, never forcing you to spend more than you can. They will even work within a specified budget if that’s all you can afford. Japanese Auto Repair does great work at a fair price and I would certainly recommend them if you’re looking to keep up on maintenance or have a problem that needs diagnosing. My 19 year old daughter got her Camry towed here when it broke Down on side of road . The guy said it needed a new engine for 4,000$ and told her to just bring him the title instead of paying 150$ for diagnosing fee . Thought that was weird so got it towed for a second opinion, turns out just needed a timing chain for 700$ and it runs fine ! Stay away from this place !!
