These guys are the best. I’m almost hesitant to write this review because I don’t want the secret to get out, but they deserve all the praise. They are the most honest, fair, knowledgeable mechanics in town. They have worked on my last 2 cars and they take care of me every time. If you want an honest mechanic that is super affordable and knows their stuff, tachyon is your place! No fancy waiting rooms or loaner vehicles that would need to be paid for by jacking your prices up. Just badass, hardworking mechanics that seem to be few and far between these days. My wife and I were driving through Louisville from Dallas on our way to upstate NY. Our 2011 Audi Q5 (with 83,000 miles) suddenly lost power on I-64 as we entered the city. The car went into “limp mode” and could not be driven. We had it towed to an import repair shop in Louisville in the Irish Hill area, left the Audi, and rented a car to continue on our way. Although it was expensive, we received a solid diagnosis from the car “doctors” at the first shop. However, their repair estimate was also very high, so we called various other shops that also had good reviews and came highly recommended from Jeff at Autowerkstatt (who would have repaired our car if he wasn’t so busy himself). Tachyon Performance gave us a reasonable quote for the repairs we needed. We had the Audi towed there and they had the car repaired and ready for us as we swung back through on our way home to Dallas.
