Kevin's Auto Repair

After paying these guys $400 for auto repairs, we were needing tail light repairs on the Jeep we own since they were not working at all. I was told that they could not be fixed because the socket bulb receptacle was obsolete. A friend at work suggested O'Reilly's and I was able to purchase new complete tail light assemblies for under $100 and assistance installing them. I go to a mechanic because I assume they are knowledgeable on how to repair my automobile problems. These guys, not helpful. Additionally, no empathy or recommendations to help resolve the issue. I guess there's a reason they feel a need to secure their property completely gated under lock and key: dissatisfied customers due to shotty and untruthful business practices.

Kevin has the cleanest, most professional garage in not only Huntsville, but in any city I’ve ever lived. We have several cars and he and his team have taken the care to detail each one has required. Wonderful business and an asset to Huntsville.

This is a positive review with an asterisk at the end for potential new customers. Kevin's is unusually good in the auto repair world about communication via the Web, email, or text. This is especially helpful for folks who work in environments where they can't easily make or take personal phone calls at random times. Kevin's does real diagnostics rather than relying on intuition or speculative part-swapping. If you have experience with this kind of thing as I do, you'll appreciate the attention to detail. Their diagnostic probably saved me a blown engine, and was worth more than I paid for it. I ultimately decided against having the repairs done there because of a combination of two factors: (1) their ~80% markup on a $1000+ parts kit, and (2) their unwillingness to consider an alternative source for the same parts kit that could have offered less than a 10+ day lead time.
