American Pride Automotive, New Town

A safety inspection should be simple but nothing about this process went smoothly and ultimately led me to not fully trust that American Pride was a reputable business. I made an appointment and was told the car would be done by noon. At 4 pm, I had to contact them for an update. The inspection wasn't complete and they assured me a call back within an hour. No call, so I followed up again, learning that a part needed to be ordered. Fine. The next day I agreed to the after market part at a given price. At 4:15 that afternoon I was called to learn that the part wasn't correct, they had looked online for a part "with a thumbnail picture, and it looked like it would work" THESE are the auto mechanics - how they could not order the correct taillight assembly is beyond me. At that point, I picked up my car and went elsewhere. The dealership confirmed the part that needed to be ordered and they quoted a repair that was 25% less than American Pride. I have used American Pride Automotive's New Town location since the fall of 2021 for my yearly inspections as well as for any kind of car maintenance my vehicle may need. I know very little about how cars function, and I know even less about what must be done when they fail to function properly. Because of this lack of familiarity, I place significant value on a willingness to explain to me in plain terms what is malfunctioning in my vehicle, what the severity of that malfunction is, and what must be done to fix it. On every single occasion that I have been to American Pride Automotive, such explanations have always been provided. I have always had my questions answered, even when I asked the same question repeatedly due to my own failure to understand the answer. Those working at the New Town location provide those answers willingly and patiently, no matter the circumstances.
