Pep Boys

My car got a flat tire yesterday and had to use the spare tire. I was able to make an appointment online and drove my car to the Pep Boys shop on Goodman Rd (Southhaven, MS) this morning. The entire crew members are very courteous, professional, capable and efficient. They explained to me about the damage to the old tire, put on a new tire, and completed the service within one hour. Big Mike is really wonderful and helpful! Highly recommended!!

On Wednesday, November 22nd, I went to pick up my vehicle a 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan from Pep Boys on Goodman Road. The work that was supposed to have been done was to replace the knock sensor and valve gasket. The total was $1,411 and some change. When I got there instead of the bill being $1,411, it was $1,800 because some other work had been done that no one notified me about to get authorization to do the work. When I told the manager Charleen that I had not been notified nor did I authorize anyone she began mumbling and I asked her what did she say. Charleen stated don’t worry about it and I told her that I wanted to know what she said but she didn’t say anything else. After doing whatever she was doing on the computer for a couple of minutes she said that my bill was ready. I initially gave Pep Boys a 5-star review. But two weeks later had to change my review. On July 14, 2023, I had a level kit put on my 2022 Ford F-150 with approximately 2800 miles on it and then went straight to Pep Boys for a front-end alignment, which cost me $201.00. While at Pep Boys, the tech came to me and asked me what was up with my truck. I advised him about having the leveling kit on my truck, and I just need an alignment. The tech said my alignment was fine and nothing needed to be adjusted. On July 24, 2023, I noticed my tires didn’t look right. I compared the front to the rear tires ( see pic 1 and 2 front with 4 and 5 rear); it is clear that the vehicle is way out of alignment (500 miles since appointment at Pep Boys). I went back to Pep Boys and spoke to the assistant manager. She tried to tell me that with a leveling kit, a correct alignment was not possible.
