Bunge's Tire & Auto - Elgin

I've contacted this place on two different occasions hoping to stop in for a recal. The service I require takes 5 mins yet on both occasions I was told to call and make an appointment a couple days ahead of time. That's insane. That truly makes no sense. I will never use them for any services for any of my vehicles nor would I ever recommend.

I have been taking my car to Bunge's in Bartlett for repairs for over 18 months now. I have found them to be honest, straightforward and (Steve when at the Bartlett location) will actually sit down and explain the repair or what is happening with the vehicle. They will tell me what needs to get done right away and/or how much time they estimate me having before replacing brakes, etc. They have always accommodated me last minute which is especially helpful with how busy life is. Hi folks. Just wanted to share a less than pleasant experience with a local car repair shop. First, I have 49 years experience as a mechanic and service manager in both independent shops and car dealerships. Before I brought my car in, I physically inspected the car at my home. I don't do a lot of my own work anymore as I'm almost 70 and have lost my left arm. The work I wanted done was only maintenance work, so no diagnostics or problems to find. . I dropped off my car and told them that I had inspected the car and what I wanted done. A couple of hours later they called me and completely lied to me about additional work which I DID NOT NEED! They said the brakes were pulsating badly, and if I didn't replace them they would not guarantee their work. .And they were both dramatic and adamant about the seriousness of no problem at all.
