I was lucky enough to be the next person changing the oil on my mom's car after these people got their hands on it. What I found was not surprising to me in the slightest. The drain plug was torqued to 3x what I would consider normal, I had to use a cheater bar to remove it. A drain plug bolt should come off with no more than a 3/8" ratchet. At first I tried smacking the socket driver when my hand, then a hammer, then my foot, none of which broke the bolt free. I'm honestly surprised I didn't strip it. What the hell did these people tighten the plug with? Impact gun? 1/2" breaker bar? My god. The oil filter, like the drain plug, was over torqued. When the oil filter gasket touches the mounting surface, one full turn (at MOST) is all that's needed. After stabbing it with a screwdriver, I STILL needed to wrestle with it to get it off. Strike 2.
