Had my car inspected and was told my break pads did not pass the inspection and they even provided a picture where they stated it did not pass; they however did not include a measuring device. I took my car to another shop and for a second opinion and they were able to show me in person that breaks clearly passed the inspection. I then went back to The Tire Shop to show them the break pads passed inspection. The person working the front desk was not even aware of what the measurement needed to be to pass a Virginia state inspection. When we went to the garage and spoke to the mechanic who looked at the car after we were able to prove the pads passed inspection, his exact words were “I wouldn’t let my daughter drive this car”. This was completely ridiculous and unethical and was an attempt by The Tire Shop to pay them $600 to have them replace a car part that did not need replacement. I recommend anyone to have a second opinion elsewhere before agreeing to have work done at this plac
I’m a Marine veteran, but never announced it, nor did I expect any type of preferential treatment. However, upon checking in at the counter for service, Victor Flores greeted me with a smile and asked how many years I served in the military. It caught me off guard, but turns out he was former law enforcement and we immediately connected. Not only that, but the leak I had in my tire actually ended up being the result of a leaky valve core, and they replaced it at no charge. I was in and out of there in 20mins…on a Monday! Additionally, there was a positive vibe in the office/waiting area thanks to how friendly everyone was. I wouldn’t take my vehicle anywhere else. Thanks again for the hospitality and for your service, Victor!
I went for a safety inspection here and failed for 1) tie rod was defective, 2) brake light came on. I just replaced the tie rods myself, and they are completely fine. They are able to be turned easily there is absolutely zero signs of wear on them. So now I paid $120 for the new parts, and have to get an alignment for $200. As for the brake light, the wear sensor was slightly off. The pads and rotors are brand new front and back. If the inspector had taken the most basic look at them, they would have seen that. I decided to look up the standards for the brake light, "Vehicles equipped with a brake pad wear indicator warning light shall not constitute an automatic rejection for the vehicle submitted for a safety inspection". Complete waste of my time and money.
