Slater's Auto Works

I have brought my 22 year old show truck to Slater's for many years... When I had a water pump problem 6 years ago Slater fixed it it still working fine and I have brought it to him since was small repairs... I would recommend this mechanic shop to anybody who wants a repair done the right way... Slater is a great mechanic... Talk to Patty when you get there she is going to take care of you

I have used them a few times and was happy until now. The gas pedal on my sons car broke about 5-6 years ago and they fixed it for us. My daughter drives that car now and it broke while she was driving on the highway on Friday night and she could have had an accident. I had to pay $300 to tow it to the shop in Huntsville for it to get fixed (AGAIN!!) After further review, it was never fixed the first time but I sure was charged for it to be fixed. They rigged it with a zip tie that was undetectable with the eye because it was behind the pedal. Very frustrated with this shop and would not recommend them for anything. I had to give one star to post this but I would not give them a star. OK...SO IT WAS 7 YEARS.....IT WAS NOT EXPLAINED TO ME WITH A ZIP TIE...THAT IS TOTALLY UNSAFE AND I AM SURPRISED IT LASTED THAT LONG. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS FIXED AND THAT WAS IT. $44.00? I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT ONE BUT WHATEVER. MOTOR MOUNTS WERE ALL TAKEN CARE OF AT A FRACTION OF THE COST. THANK Y

Cool waiting room with very nice admin. They no longer do routine oil changes, but if you have time they will go buy oil and change it for you. For inspection and oil change; If you leave your vehicle before lunch, plan to pickup towards closing. Great service and people if you’re not in a hurry.
