Peiffer Auto Repair

My car was overheating and leaking coolant near there so I brought it in to this shop instead of having it towed to my mechanic. They told me I had a crack in my engine block and I needed a new engine. I got it towed to my mechanic, there was no crack, and my car is now fixed with the same engine. Unbelievable

Not impressed. Brace yourself for a story: I brought a car in for inspection to these guys. Got a call a few hours later saying that the brakes and rotors needed replacing, he ballparked $600 for the work. I asked if he was sure as we’d just purchased the car that year. He invited me to come look and, not knowing much about cars, I didn’t see that it’d be much help for me to have a look at them. Thankfully, I have a friend who works on cars and he offered to help me out for cheap. I took the car to him. He said the lugs on the tires were tight and took some work to remove which is generally a sign the tires hadn’t been taken off which should be part of an inspection to examine rotors. In any case he did the work and I brought it back to Peiffer for them to look at it. They gave it a pass. Later, my mechanic friend called me up. Said he hadn’t had a chance to replace the rear brakes or rotors. So, the same rotors that failed a little while ago suddenly passed inspection. After
