I brought my car in for a new vacuum pump and within 12 hours of picking up the car the new vacuum pump exploded into the engine of the car causing me to total the vehicle out. The two shops I took my car to afterward both said it was directly DJ petes fault in how they installed the vacuum pump. I tried to work something out with these guys to at least get a refund for the vacuum pump they installed that failed and they were completely unwilling to do anything at all to fix the situation. Very unsatisfied and I will never bring a vehicle back to them. Untrustworthy to say the least.

My family and I came in to town to shop at the mall of America. When we got to our van the next morning we saw antifreeze all over the ground. We called around in a semi-panic hoping that we can get the car repaired since we were supposed to be leaving the next day. DJ Pete’s was the only place that was open that Friday and Saturday. When I called I explain our situation, and even though he was not open at that time, he took our car in for repairs. He worked until late in the night to diagnose the problem. Was not holding pressure which is what made the antifreeze leak all over the ground. He was meticulous with his testing to make sure that the new cap did indeed hold pressure so that we could travel home safely. We got a vehicle back the next morning. His pricing was fair and well worth it. You are so fortunate to find someone who cannot only take us in, but also not take advantage of our dire situation. The priciest MECHANIC IN THE WHOLE MN STATE, $135 for checking my car and don’t even telling me what is wrong, $60 for the codes, $48 for “testing” the battery… he wanted to charge us $340 for JUST THE ALTERNATOR, and $135/hr for his work… PERSONALLY I WOULD RECOMMEND A DEALERSHIP MECHANIC, the price would be basically the same.. and at least they will give you a guarantee !!
