McCarthy Hyundai Service & Parts Olathe

I was there to have a dent repaired under a policy I bought with the new car. I arranged for a date that the repair could be done, planning to stay for the 2-3 hours it was to take. After a half hour I was told the repair person would not be in for 2-3 hours plus it would take at least two hours repair time. The service tech was very nice apologetic and offered a loaner car to take home until repair was done. So I drove the loaner home. That afternoon I got a call from my service tech. Again, he was very nice and apologetic with good news and bad news. My dent had been repaired, but the repair man cracked my window in the door where the dent was. Bottom line, I ended up with the loaner til the following week while they waited for the glass to come in for installation. The service tech I dealt with was very professional, courteous. Just bad luck about the window.

Recall repair took an hour and a half longer than told it would take. In addition, I was told I would be charged for an hour of labor (over $200) to do an update to the GPS, which we have been unable to do at home because the server would not allow. Having this done with our last vehicle was never a charge. In my opinion, it seems that this could have been done while my car took the extra time that was unexpected. In addition, during our last maintenance, my husband was told that that would be the last covered maintenance that we would have. This is inaccurate according to the purchase which is 3 years of covered maintenance. We have only had the car for 2 years, which would mean we have another year of maintenance. I just don't feel that the customer service this location used to have to take care of customers exists anymore. I used to brag about their service, but sadly, i don't anymore.

Service manager Logan did an excellent job checking me in and explaining that the recall fix and oil change would take long than I thought. He also arranged for me to get a ride home and back after the fix was completed. Services: Vehicle Inspection, Oil change
