Bump City

Someone hit my car in a parking lot in Chicago. It was hit and run. I contacted Allstate, my vehicle insurance, and started an insurance claim because even though the damage did not look that bad, my car was not drivable. Allstate called a tow company and my car was towed to a very sketchy tow lot in Cicero. It was terrible, I did not want my car to go there. I called 8 repair shops to try and get my car towed right away near my home here in Oak Park that were either rude, did not answer phone or were "not taking cars that are non drivable". In the meantime the shady tow service in 5 days were going to charge Allstate $3200 in storage fees. When Allstate questioned this, they lowered the amount to about $2200. which is still ridiculous since my vehicle was actully being stored on a decrepit private residence driveway. They did a great job repairing the fender on my 2019 Audi Q7. It got dented by a hit-and-run driver crossing the curb on Western and was apparently quite difficult to handle with its all-aluminum construction.
