I took my car to these so-called "professionals" for an issue I was having with the transmission getting stuck in first gear. Called the next day, and they told me that they had checked the transmission, that it had burnt oil and metal shavings in the oil, and that the transmission had to be replaced. Cost, $4,200 for a used transmission and 30-day warranty. The car only has 80,000 miles with all maintenance up to date. So, it seemed odd to me that the transmission was damaged in the way they said, that it couldn't even be fixed. Since I had my doubts, I asked them how they had checked the oil, and they told me that they had loosened the bolts on the oil pan to drain a little and test it. I paid the 137 dollars they charge for the "diagnostic" and pick-up the car. When I got home, I checked the oil pan, and they hadn't touched it.
