Toyota Service

After leaving a very positive review three years ago, I regret to inform the Toyota community that the service standards at Toyota of Poway have greatly diminished. My main complaint has to do with recommendations for service that my car does not need. My new service advisor continues to list items on the inspection report that have recently been done. For example, fluid changes are recommended well before Toyota’s recommended service intervals. To change it more frequently is throwing money away. The last time I had the oil changed on my 2018 Toyota Highlander, I was told that I needed an engine air filter. I was told they could install one for $25. I declined. When picking my car up, I changed my mind. I went to the parts department. They wanted to charge me $30. I then went to my car to install it, and the old air filter was in very good shap, and certainly did not need replacing. I was also given a list of recommended fluid changes on my 2006 Toyota. Canceled my appointment day of. Because of it being a later in the day appointment and said they wouldn't have time. Online system when booking seemed to think it was or why else would it let me pick that time with the services chosen. They probably just want to leave early before the 4thnof July weekend.
