I have searched for an honest mechanic for over 20 years since leaving the Midwest. Well he finally appeared and is currently Mgr. of Poway Muffler and Brake. Mark runs this shop with top-notch service, integrity and honesty. You won't be told to fix a bunch of things; simply this is what I recommend to keep you safe. I put on many miles working as a travel employee to Emergency Departments in San Diego. He has kept his promise of keeping me safe in my work travels during the Pandemic. I highly recommend Mark and his team. They are experienced, professional and personable. It feels like a 'shop from home in the Midwest'.

I ended up here because I'd rather support a small business. Once in a while you find a manager or an owner who is proud of what they do. This was one of those luck encounters. I went here, originally, for a noisy exhaust. I was quoted a price to cut the flange and bolts off and weld in a piece of pipe, left the keys and went about my day. They actually worked to get the bolts unstuck and put new ones in...for less! Needless to say, I've been back several times with more than one vehicle and I've had great experiences every time. Scot is a true professional. No bs, but in a friendly way. His quotes are always spot on. He actually calls if there's something unexpected! His work is clean, fast and done right the first time. What I like most is that he won't take any job just for the money. He knows what quality means and isn't willing to sacrifice that for a dollar. First went in nearly 20 years ago and was overwhelmed by the no-upsell, honest and fair treatment I always received. My cars are all short term leases now, so I never need service, but I had to chance to reconnect when a friend and employee needed service. Fast forward two owners to the current manager: Mark. Same amazing service, and great work. This is the place that instead of recommending you spend more money to do this or that, when you pick up your car they say "we noticed your xxx needed replacement and did it on the house". Yep, no annoying change your cabin air filter, or your brake fluid calls needs to be replaced calls from this place! If you have an elderly parent, or teen daughter that needs to go get something services and you go with them so they don't get taken advantage of, save the trip and just send them over to Mark.
