Went in for a smog check, I used a 39.99 coupon I got on the mail, without it would have been about 10.00 to 20.00 more. Being a minivan they charge more, being 1998 they charge even more! 2000 or older vehicles take more physical effort on technician and time too, according to different shops I previously visited. They like it when the only thing they do is connect their computer to the car's obd port. Estimated total 58.00, including stupid state certificate. I said yes, it was cheaper than other places. From a good distance I saw the technician do his thing, when I thought he was done the service writer approached me telling me that my minivan passed the test with flying colors but, yes there was a but! It failed the gas tank cap functional test????. He told me they can replace it for 12.00 dlls. Later I noticed on the receipt it was actually 12.99 dlls.
