Auto Aid, LLC. - Auto Repair & Muffler Shop

This shop quoted my mom a repair of $900. They had her phone number and she checked in a couple of times while it was in their shop. She spoke to someone the day it was supposed to be done, and they never mentioned any additional repairs. She went to pick it up and they charged her $1800, said more problems were found. They should have checked with her, as this pretty much wiped out her entire savings. The folks also told her there was a 4% total charge for using a debit card, which came to almost $70. I would say this shop is affordable and reasonably priced, although some issues arrose regarding the work done. First, I left with my steering wheel not centered and the allignment from another shop they use, was not right. I went somewhere else and had the toe set correctly. I returned with a receipt and was promptly given a refund for my cost. Also I found 12 days later that the new lower balljoints were not greased by the owner or his mechanic at this shop. Someone must have forgot. I'm a mechanic myself and I can see the grease fittings were never applied any grease. I greased them today. 3 weeks later+. I had noticed noise up front for awhile. I checked the front wheels for play and found A Lot. The cotter pin was too small and the nut backed off on the hubs making the bearings have play.
