About to embark on a cross country trip with my girlfriend and our dog, I took my car to a shop I won’t name to have oil change and full inspection done to make sure we were good to go. After paying over a $1000 to have a valve cover gasket replaced on my BMW, we barely made it 200 miles before the engine was pouring oil and I lost almost 5 quarts of oil on the highway. Got a hotel for the night and looked for mechanic in the area that worked on BMW. The first shop that popped up was Alpine so I gave them a call. Fred answered the phone and listened my story, and I told him how we were stranded at our hotel. So he came out to look at my car here at our hotel and took all the information he could. Later that afternoon he made arrangements for me to get the car to his shop and even gave me a ride back to hotel. Now he doesn’t know me at all and still hasn’t charged me a dime.
