Definitely check them out next time you need some work done. I brought my vehicle in because I was getting a thud noise when I shifted into gear occasionally. The transmission is in a sealed compartment and I couldn't check the fluid myself. I purchased the truck 6 months ago and wasn't sure what the maintenance record was and I had already been concerned and wondering if the transmission fluid had been changed. After I did my research it seemed that the thud was directly related. I had a few other standard maintenance points I wanted to ask about, but they were not my primary concern. Terrence helped determine that I needed a transmission flush and recommended the vehicle tuneup as part of the standard service required for my mileage. First off, all my phone calls with Terrance before bringing my car in were great! He was very helpful and patient as I explained what was going on with my car, fearing I was starting to have major transmission problems. Then when I brought my car in, they were fabulous. I have a Volvo and they are not made such that you can easily check or add transmission fluid yourself. Turned out I was practically out of transmission fluid after my previous mechanic of 15 years had changed it just 6 weeks ago. Terrance also went over other recommended maintenance and it was all stuff that I expected as well (brakes, tune up to address idling and turbo sluggishness). My car drives great now, no more gear slipping and chunking, and all it took was the relatively inexpensive fluid change (done properly this time).
