Stew's Self Service Garage

I went into this shop to replace my wheel bearing not knowing what to expect from the whole process of the garage. What a relief, things were so laid back, yet professional. I was free to do what I needed to, and got a few pointers on the bearing press that I'd never used before, super helpful and a great experience. I will come back for sure! Thank you guys.

These guys have a clean shop knowledgeable and plenty of tools. do your own work, I mean is you car and you know best. As a YouTube mechanic, come and get your hands dirty.

Arrived at 7pm, wanted to change my 2 front tie rods ( i have the complete assy with the rod ends) on my Mercedes W126 420SEL. I removed and installed the old ones already for practice during brake change. There are 4 nuts to loosen in total, time for removal installation was about 45 minutes for both. The guy here tells me something about how he is a mechanic since 30 years and in no way he can let me do the job tonight because it would take way longer. Remember I needed 45 min with pre-alignement and I would have had 2 hours as they close at 9PM. This shop will never see me again. By the way I am an aircraft engineer, since 1992. Bye!
