Since I first moved to the mid-cities area 5 years ago, I've been searching for a good mechanic. As most of us know, they're rare to find. I've finally found a professional mechanic with integrity who knows their stuff. Recently, I was on the way out of town when my Chevy pickup started overheating. Travis carefully diagnosed the problem when other shops could not...he did it quickly and he kept me up to date on the progress, asking my approval before proceeding with any repairs. He had me back on the road in no time, and at a very reasonable price. He explained what the issues were and what steps were taken to correct them. The truck has run at proper temperature ever since the repairs. Travis is a class act who does good work. He's now my go-to mechanic in DFW. I wouldn't trust my vehicles to anyone else, and I recommend him to everyone I know.

These days it's very hard to find an honest, reasonably priced and skilled mechanic. Travis at Family Vehicle Repair is a true gem. We have an old used car that we bought for our son for college and the engine blew in April. Travis changed it out in no time and got the car back up and purring like a kitten. We have had a few small issues with it since (normal wear and tear for 200k miles), not related to the engine (which he replaced with a low mileage engine to make sure that the car had a long life ahead of it), and it has gone back to Travis for every single repair. We won't use anyone else but Travis now and highly recommend him to anyone. Travis goes out of his way to make sure that the car is fixed correctly and totally stands behind the work that he does!

I cannot say enough about Family Vehicle Repair and its owner Travis Harkins. Our air conditioning in our car went out in the heat of the summer and my husband was out of town....he gave Travis a call and told him of the situation and Travis came over and fixed it in my driveway and charged a extremely reasonable price to do so! He is a honest man in a industry that is known for being dishonest. I am so sad to have found this jewel and than get moved to another state. You won't be sorry you did business with this company.
