I took my car to Mr. Brown to have some work done on the power steering pump.  I trusted him with my car because of the good reviews he has on Google. He called me a couple hours after dropping it off and told me I had to go "show him the trick to start the car".  I told him I never had a problem starting the car but I drove there to see what was going on.  When I got there he looked under the hood for about one minute before confirming he set off the anti-theft security system. He said he would reset the system. The next day he called telling me he couldn't get it to reset and that he was tired of messing with it and I needed to have it towed off his property.  So now I still have to pay for the original work it needed done because he didn't fix it, on top of something HE messed up (I have to have a new key fob programmed by the dealership),  and also the tow.  When I told him I thought he should pay to have it towed since he was the reason it was stuck he told me if I didn't have it

Having serviced my own cars in the past, it's very difficult to find trustworthy, honest mechanics nowadays. Brown's (Jon) Automotive was recommended to me after having my car serviced at East Coast for a full diagnosis. While I had East Coast perform some maintenance, I searched alternatives to save while servicing an older model car. Thankfully - Jon was recommended. I had strut and brake work done, and he and his assistant Aidan did awesome work - having discovered an issue with the right front wheel assembly. My car now rides like new. One thing to note: if you're looking for a fancy shop with a waiting room and plush grounds - this isn't the place for you. However - if you have an older car and looking for value with an exceptionally knowledgeable owner - this is the place.
