We were 4 hours into our Disney vacation when our van broke down. It was 3pm on a Saturday. We were turned away from 4 shops. When we called Monro they told us to bring it right over! They were absolutely fantastic and fixed the issues in a couple of hours. Very nice honest people at this shop. You guys saved our vacation I can't thank you enough!
They did not ask for the year make and model of my car or my name when I called (which I have never not been asked from a mechanic before bringing in my vehicle). I brought it in anyways at 9:30am because the previous owner of the car took it here and recommended it. Figured they must know the vehicle. I had to call at 1:00pm to check status (they were only to be running a diagnostic). They hadn’t gotten to it, okay that’s fair, busy day. I call again around 5:00pm because they close at 6:00pm and they let me know they did not have the proper diagnostic tool to figure out my problem. I think this problem probably could have been avoided and my day not wasted had they asked the year make and model before accepting my vehicle into their lot. It was a simple google search for me. I don’t think they care much about customer service. Or even their own time for that matter
Took my car in for an inspection, and they tried to extort over $500 out of me for work that didn't need done. They refused to pass the car unless the work was done (they claimed a bolt was bad on the strut and wanted to replace the entire strut, you know, the things that last for 100k miles). The car is practically new and rarely driven, it doesn't need anything done to it worth $500. So I took it to a locally owned mechanic and it was passed with no problem - I even got a discount since my car is exempt from emissions (driven under 5000 miles per year), but be aware that Monro still wanted to charge me full price. Bunch of scammers -- do not go here! Give local honest mechanics the business.
