I spoke with both Tony and Steve when I was told by the dealership I needed to replace my transmission. They both were very honest and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the process and took the time to answer all of my questions. I ended up not fixing the transmission but if I ever have transmission needs in the future, I will be calling Opitz!

Steve is an extremely dishonest man!! My husband and I went to his shop based off the recommendation by a trusted mechanic. We brought the car in and he told us the problem was the transfer case so he said we had to replace the transfer case. We trusted him and went with a new system In order to have a longer warranty, it cost us $3,000 for him to fix it, this includes parts and labor. Once the work was completed, he told us that one of the tires were mismatched and this was the cause of the initial damage to the transfer case, so we needed to change the tires. A few days after picking the car up; we noticed the problem had returned, however we figured we needed to change the tires before we attempted to have him look at it again. Since it was the holiday season we changed all 4 tires a soon as we could get in a shop which was within 2 weeks. The problem has persisted and when we were finally able to get an appointment to bring the car in for him to look at again he is now telling us

My husband and I were on a trip to Buffalo, but low and behold our transmission blew on the throughway. We got towed here as it was recommended by another tow company and the tow truck driver that picked us up. We stayed the night with the truck because it was late, and when Steve got there in the morning, he wasn't upset with us just showing up on his doorstep like 2 lost little puppies. Steve was great, amazing, wonderful, all of the things you would want in a repair shop owner! He helped out my husband under the hood, topped off our fluids, etc and was only going to charge us for the fluid used. I insisted he charge my card for more because he spent a good hour helping us out. Sadly our truck didn't make it far, but that's not Steve's fault by any means. We're currently deciding whether or not it's worth repairing, and if we repair it, even though they're booked out about 3 weeks, this is where we'll be bringing it.
