Mao Auto Tech Auto Repair & NYS Inspection

After doing a lot of online research, I decided to go get my car inspection at Mao. They had lots of good reviews across several sites so I felt quite confident that they were reputable. Within minutes, they informed me my brakes and rotors were in such bad shape that they wouldn't pass inspection. My brakes and rotors had been replaced 7 months earlier and the car was driven 2000 miles since that time. I ended up taking my car to my regular mechanic, where it passed inspection without issue. These folks are criminals who have put a lot of work into pretending they are reputable. Stay away!

Extremely friendly and very responsive - highly recommend this shop!! To give an example of the type of place - i called on a saturday when they were closed (didnt leave a VM) and they called me back on monday to follow up as they saw the missed call - thats a first for nyc. I come here for my oil changes, and the guys are always friendly and I appreciate the honesty, upfront pricing, and chats in English/Spanish. They also provided me with recommendations for places in the area for other services that your vehicle may need. Overall really good experience, and I will continue coming for my servicing needs.
