Downtown Service Center

Excellent all around. Great service, good work, honest prices, and quick turnaround. I was in Gulfport (live in Chicago), had a transmission issue on Wednesday afternoon, I was back on the road Thursday morning; and for a fraction of what I thought it might cost. Highly recommend!

DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. I don’t make complaints, but this was ridiculous. My clutch went out on July 15th. I called and they told me to bring it on July 20th, they’d have it looked at and have me an estimate July 22nd & the work should be completed no later than the following week. After that following week, I hadn’t heard updates from them. Over the course of the next three weeks, I would call back and they either say “the mechanic called in sick or the only had one transmission guy and he was working on another project” Every time I would call for an estimate, the lady at the front desk would never give me a range, she would only say “oh your not going to like it” or “yeah it’s not going to be pretty.” They kept lying and saying they put in on the lifter but took it off. On August 10th, I had it towed from Downtown to Chuck Coats, a few blocks down. They completed the service to me with excellent professionalism & on August 12th my service was completed. I recently had an excellent experience at the Downtown Service Center. I was 7 hours from home and having car problems. This place was so efficient, kind and helpful. They solved my problem. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Downtown Service Center for keeping me calm so far away from home. The services I received felt fair, ethical and human.
