Tom's Service Center

Carl and his wife went far and beyond to accommodate my very frustrating situation. Fluid was leaking on my 02 Toyota 4runner, on my way back to Chicago, Heritage Auto Service recommended Tom's even though it was a long shot, since they're usually busy. Carl took my car in right away (even though he had couple cars ahead) just to check if it would be a quick fix (hopefully just brakes issue). Unfortunately it wasn't and would most probably have to be dropped off. (it was axle seal). Instead of just getting me out of his way, Carl made some phone calls and had set up an appt over on Kool Toyota, explained a brief summary of what he had found and got me on my way to have my car fixed!! He sure took a bunch of headache off my back. If I lived in Grand Rapids, MI I would definitely have full faith and trust for Carl at Tom's Service Center. Thank you Carl, and the wife. I brought in my 1980 Firebird which is super clean, rust free and in excellent condition to get a simple muffler install. I simply wanted a straight section of the exhaust pipe cut out in front of my existing muffler and a glass pack straight thru muffler installed in line. Quick easy money for any mechanic. Making an appointment with the receptionist who was friendly, then a guy walks in who I assume is the owner saying no, no, no. She looked as confused as I was by his tone and actions and asked why, what?? He looked at her without addressing me at all and repeated no no I don't want to work on something that old, I just don't, no. He didnt ask any questions or say anything else So I am left standing there wondering if I am in the twilight zone instead of an auto mechanics shop and slowing turned around and said okaaaaay and slowly walked away. Maybe he is a decent mechanic when he decides he wants to work on something but just as many other reviewers have said he is definitely
