A reliable and experienced classic FJ cruiser mechanic is hard to find in Massachusetts, Gus at Volsar Automotive is one of those rare few. He currently works on multiple land cruisers of varying vintage and conditions including my 1967 FJ40 with a Chevy V8. My truck is not too original compared to the others, it has a solid frame and it drives but it has been pretty modified by previous owners. Gus is guiding me through replacing those hacky mods with high quality solutions and starting us on the rolling restoration path to bring back that classic cruiser character. Gus has done a lot of work off the clock for me on this truck. I can tell he is really passionate about FJs and helping me take my cruiser to the next level. He does a really good job explaining everything he is doing. I hope to someday to understand my cruiser like he does. So far I have had general maintenance done, carburetor adjusted, beautiful custom engine mounts installed and he has made a whole list of other items

I’ve been an employee for Volsar for about 8 years. It’s been a pleasure and an honor to work for Gus and Tina. Both Gus and Tina are committed to their employees success and their career progression. Working here has given me the opportunity to grow both professionally within the company and technically as an automotive technician. I started as a technician in the shop working on a multitude of different vehicle types and vehicle brands. Working on so many different types of vehicles has been challenging but rewarding in the fact that it has broadened my diagnostic and problem solving skills. After spending years in the shop as a technician I was promoted to shop manager working at the front desk. I’ve enjoyed the last 8 years with the company and look forward to many more. My car's windshield wiper fluid stopped working this winter, so I brought it to Volsar - they found and repaired the problem same day (a blockage in the hose) and replaced rear wiper blade & checked a few things I asked for (which ended up not needing any work), all for a reasonable price (~ 160$). My car is new-ish, so I hadn't been recently until now, but I recall good experiences with them from my old car (early-mid 2010s), and also my partner used them for tire replacement and had a good experience. They are friendly, responsive and reasonable. And they don't have the "macho" attitude that some mechanics have. Highly recommend. Service: General repairs & maintenance
