AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care

Spent $4,000 for a trans rebuild. I get the car back making a loud tick sound about every second and 1/2. I tell the guy that went over everything with me and he says he doesn’t know. He said it couldn’t have been them cause transmissions don’t make that noise. So I won’t trust them ever again. Otherwise the car does run better but that damn noise drives me crazy. And I can’t afford to spend more money going somewhere else to get it fixed properly after spending 4 grand.

While on vacation, flat towing my car, behind my motorhome, I was told smoke was coming out from under the car's engine hood. Emergency road service took the car to a safe place to be serviced. This was 350 miles from home. I was told the transmission needed to be replaced. I brought the car back home on a trailer and took it to Aamco. Addison checked the car for me and he said nothing was wrong with the transmission and no leaks were detected. I flat towed the car again for a test run. Unfortunately, I had the same issue, smoking and fluid everwhere. I brought it back to Addison. He too was confused as to the problem. He was determined to find the answer! After doing much research and phone calls, he learned that my car had too much transmission fluid in it. (At my last oil change, the transmission fluid was topped off - by another shop.)
