After putting close to 250,000 miles on my Honda Element, the engine died. The dealership wanted about $7,000 to replace my car's engine with a donor engine (not a new engine), and I thought this was outrageous. I was distraught because I could not imagine not driving my Element. I LOVE MY CAR, and frankly, I cannot think of any other car I would like to drive, but I thought I was not going to have another choice because I could not justify paying $7,000 for a used engine.
