Pep Boys

The last time I brought my car in for an oil change and servicing, they forgot to put in a new filter, and they installed the wrong size battery, which I did not find out until a few months later. When my husband brought in his car for oil change and new tires, they forgot to put a hubcap back on, so it's now missing, and they couldn't balance the tires, because the machine was sent out for servicing, or something to that effect. Giving them one more try, because my check engine light is on and they have lots of availability so I made an appointment. I come in, only for them to tell me that the diagnostics person is out for the next 4 or more days. Ugh. Also, the lights in the waiting area are flickering so badly that they are giving me a headache! Yikes.

Don't waste your time. I had a truck that was out of alignment and that had worn the front tires excessively. I called pep boys and told them this and specifically told them that the back tires were still good. I asked if they could rotate the tires and do the alignment, since the front ones were so worn. They said yes so I scheduled it. I dropped off my truck and told them again that the front tires were badly worn and they would need to rotate the tire before aligning it, again he said okay. Two hours later I get a call saying the front tires are worn and that they can't rotate them, that I need new tires. I KNOW THAT AND TOLD THEM THAT ALREADY AND I TOLD THEM THAT I WOULD BE BACK LATER IN THE WEEK TO GET NEW TIRES. The tires that are worn are only worn on the outside, they still have plenty of tread and are not dangerous. They have now wasted my time. IF SOMEONE TELLS YOU THAT THE TIRES ARE WORN AND YOU SAY YOU CAN DO IT THEN DO IT. So much for this shop... And then they

Wow! What a great experience with Keke, a phenomenal Pep Boys Manager. Imagine, your brakes begin to grind and you have a 1200 mile trip from Florida to Wisconsin in two working days. It's a bad spot to be in. A friend advised us to check out Pep Boys in Largo. So we did that today, 5 minutes before closing, just to get a feel for the place. When Keke, the manager, heard we had grinding brakes, he said, "That's a safety issue, I'll take a look." 1/1/2 hours later, working by himself, Keke had replaced the brakes on all four wheels. Incredible! In my experience, 99/100 people in this situation would have told us to come back in the morning - which is what I was expecting. Instead he tackled the job and solved our serious problem right then and there. I can't say enough good things about what Keke did for us today.
