DISHONEST REPAIR SHOP. The engine of my Nissan Quest was ruined by Valvoline in Tulare and they sent the van to Universal Auto Repair for a diagnostic and decided that they were going to replace the engine with a similar used engine. After they told me that the van was ready I went to pick it up. Initially they didn’t give me any paperwork, but after I insisted, they gave me a copy of the invoice where it showed that the engine was replaced. When I got home, the check engine light turned on. I called Universal and got no response. I left a voice mail and nobody called back. I then took the van to a friend who discovered that the engine was never replaced. They had just flushed the engine and washed it on the outside. I emailed Gabriel Ortiz from Universal Auto repair with a formal complaint. No answer. I then filed a complaint with the BAR (Bureau of Auto Repair) and we took the van to the Visalia Nissan Dealer for an inspection. Everyone agreed that the engine was never replaced. The

I was referred to them by a family memeber who I trust for an Ac compressor replacement for my Mercedes Benz They replaced it and then told me that, that was not in fact the issue with the ac not blowing cold air. So lead me and my husband to believe that the ac compressor was not the problem and that it was something else. Either way We still had to pay $ 660 Then a year later when we had the money and were ready to find out what the problem was we took it to a different shop and they tell us the Ac compressor is faulty and that was the main reason why it was not blowing cold air. So we call VISALIA UNIVERSAL CAR REPAIR to let them know and they did not want to help us at all when this was their mistake also they LIED about the Warranty! They were just so rude on the phone, hanged up on my husband when he was respectfully talking to them about the situation! So pretty much it was fraud.
