Prius Hybrid Repair Shop

My Prius got the infamous Red Triangle error. Took it to the nearest Hybrid repair shop. Was told two cells were bad. The vendor quoted me $3,000.00 to replace the battery, labor and materials. Did not offer or mention that individual cells could be replaced. Called around, spoke to one of the "kings" in this space, and got this via SMS: "Good morning! No problem. You’re interested in our repair option then? For that we charge $595 + $350 for labor + travel expenses (typically around $50). That comes with a 6 month warranty on the modules we replace only. Can you tell me what year Prius you have?" This still seemed to high for me. I watched the YouTube videos and knew that replacing cells was not that difficult, and, anyone with a basic understanding of tools could do this. I called Prius Hybrid Repair Shop in Temple City. Spoke to someone who seemed to not be salivating over my problem. Quickly went over my options, pricing and associated warranty for each option. Was quoted a

My dashboard lights went off on my prius 2nd gen, I was very frustrated. I couldn’t tell the speed or the gas amount left it was totally off. I called Gladys she told me they do such repairs. Amazing shop. Felix is a great mechanic and very honest. I took my Toyota Prius V to him for a hybrid battery replacement. He was very honest and told me that since the dashboard hybrid battery light was not on that I did not necessarily have to replace the battery now. I asked him to clean the hybrid cooling fan and test the battery anyway and we discovered that my battery was down to 31 percent of it's potential. he then agreed to replace it for me and my car is running better than ever. His price was very competitive and his was the best warranty I found after shopping several places. Felix is a very nice man. His shop is clean and organized. I am very happy with the experience and I plan to use his shop if I need any repairs from now on. thanks Felix and crew for all the great work!
