i took my car here in 2006 for a transmission job. they said my transmission was fine, they said all it needed was a tune up. so i paid them $600 for a tune up that my car didnt need. i took the car back to them because the problem persisted. now they told me it was a transmission problem, and told me they didnt do transmission jobs there Service: Engine repair

Brett and his team are simply the best. They worked on my front brakes and was honest enough to tell me that my rear brakes on the X4 are still fine instead of 'upselling' un-needed repairs. Brian and Ozzie and their entire team (including Buddy) turned what started as a nightmare Friday into a long term relationship. Of course the dealer told me I needed everything and the kitchen sink. One call to a former mechanic (who specializes in a different brand) pointed me to Santa Monica Autoworks. They listened, gave me the total cost and timing of brakes, and offered to help me deal with getting a rental car (Midway was also amazing). I thought it might be too good to be true but – the truth is – it was even better. I thought my car would be ready on Monday so I was ecstatic to get a call from Brian that it would be ready on Saturday. They are the real deal. Real people who have been doing this for 20+ years on the same corner in Santa Monica. Hoping that my car won't need service but, in the event that it does, it's great to now have trusted team.
