My mother's Lexus had a good bit of light to medium scratching, as well as myself letting my car barely bump the her rear bumper with my grill. So, i let a fool talk me into allowing him to power-buff her Lexus - as he said he'd done it professionally and it would look brand new. He DESTROYED her paint! He used an over-powered side grinder and burnt the paint and burnt the compound into the paint in large streaks all over the car. I took it several places that came highly recommended by the Lexus dealership and parts supply, all of whom told me they couldn't help and that it would be impossible to remove, and unlikely to even diminish the damage - however, most of them told me to take it to Jim's Detailing. I was given a $250 gift certificate by my wife for a full detailing of my tiny compact car. I had brought my car in at 9 a.m. and was called two hours later and was told by the owner that my car was dirtier than excpected. I was then told it would cost another $150 to finish my car. Upon hearing this I wanted my money back and Jim told me he doesn't do refunds. We worked it out so that his crew would concentrate on the interior, when I received my car after they had completed it, it looked substandard. The window was covered in oily streaks, my shifter and steering wheel were sticky and areas in plain sight were completely missed. The detailing provided was not worth $50 and I was charged $250. I would recommend college students or one of the scout troops who wash cars over Jim's Detailing.
