We visited Pep Boys in Contra Costa a while back for a dead battery for our van. They replaced our battery with one that was too small for the vehicle which most likely caused a number of things to go wrong. Carlos was able to diagnose our issues, find a few other ones and handle them quickly. While the cost to diagnose the problems was a bit high, but I am super confident that he got us sorted out. I have never been to a mechanic that was so communicative and made things easy to understand and set the expectations so well. He was kind enough to help us out with a complete service of the vehicle, wash and vacuum. He even fixed a broken blinker for us. Overall, I felt really well taken care of coming here. That doesn't happen often leaving a mechanic. Thank you Carlos!

This is the only place that I’ll take my car to be fixed. Carlos is very good at his job and always takes good care of my cars. He’s knowledgeable and trustworthy. Whenever I take my car in for something, he fixes it on the first go and sometimes he’ll even go above and beyond and I’ll get a clean car returned to me. He’s just a solid guy and I fully trust him with my cars.

You should give this place a chance. Carlos is great! I had an electrical issue that he was able to rectify- not by replacing parts (like most shops), but doing the tedious work of troubleshooting. He was upfront about charges, so there were no surprises, and he kept me updated on progress.
